Road to the Horse honored Montana horseman and Wild Card competitor Jon Ensign with an official Road to the Horse 2014 judging position when his 6666 Ranch bred American Quarter Horse gelding had to leave the competition. Road to the Horse has always had a huge passion for the horse and always, without question makes decisions based on what is best for every horse involved in the competition, so when Road to the Horse Owner and Producer Tootie Bland heard the news regarding Playboys Sense, Bland's first priority was to the horse.
"I am so excited to bring the very first Wild Card competition to Road to the Horse in 2014 but after veterinary examination, it was decided that Playboy's Sense should be removed from the competition, due to an injury he had sustained while turned out" Bland explains. "Jon Ensign was so impressed with this talented colt that he will retain ownership and continue his training, after he has rested him in his beautiful pastures in Montana."
"Designed to showcase future superstars of the horse industry who have the talent to capture a World Championship of Colt Starting title, Wild Card Jon Ensign is more than qualified to step into a judging position at Road to the Horse 2014. The decision to bring Ensign on board as a judge was obvious to me and an honor for the event" Bland stated. " Road to the Horse is always known for twists and turns in the competition and 2014 will be no exception as Ensign steps up to judge the talented horsemen and women, that he would have competed against."
